The Sprinter - Getaway

Kim and Chris are delighted to be able to share their adventure bus with you. The Sprinter is an ex-ambulance and has been regularly serviced throughout its life. A reliable vehicle capable of travelling the length and breadth of New Zealand. Perfect for exploring mountains, plains, valleys and the coastline. The automatic 2.9litre diesel van has a smooth ride making driving part of the experience. The size of the Sprinter means it can easily navigate the open road, hills, cities and supermarket car parks.

As a fully self-contained motorhome, the Sprinter is a great size for two, the layout provides a lounge with table, that converts easily to either two singles or a queen size bed at night. Just let us know your preference. There is a gas hob and grill and a fridge with ice box - a BBQ for your use means that cooking is a real pleasure. As a self-contained vehicle, there is a toilet in the bathroom.

There is plenty of storage throughout the van, with overhead cupboards, one wardrobe, under-seat spaces and room in the back for the camping chairs, table, BBQ, spare gas bottle, power cables, waste and water hoses. The front cabin is large and roomy with reversing camera, a TomTom GPS sat nav, two phone holders and 12v USB chargers. Power is 12V provided by the house battery and an inverter allows small 230V appliances. There is a 230V system with plug points that can be used at campsites. A portable heater will keep you warm when plugged into power at campsites.

The Sprinter comes ready to go with all kitchen equipment including pots, pans, kettle plates, cups and cutlery, bed linen, towels, tea towels, dish cloths and cleaning equipment. We also provide cooking basics (salt, pepper, oil, herbs, tea, coffee and sugar). There are games to play, books to read and space to stretch out and relax. A 24" HD LED TV with built in DVD player means that evenings can be spent with a beer watching your favourite movies (provided at no cost).

The Sprinter is a neat camper. Just the right size for cruising through NZ. It is our pride and joy and you are welcome to share our travelling second home for your own NZ adventure. We are happy to pick you up and return you to Christchurch Airport at our expense.

No smoking, no pets, no cooking fish in the van (use the BBQ)

Note: In NZ the cost of diesel fuel is about 40% cheaper than unleaded petrol. The government charges diesel users $0.09 per km for using the vehicle. This is called road user charge (RUC). The owner has to buy km in lots of 1000km and make sure the amount is displayed on the vehicle. This means that on an average vehicle with a fuel use of 10L/100km the combined cost of diesel per litre and RUC equals the cost of petrol per litre.

When hiring this vehicle the hirers is charged $0.08 per km which is collected at the end of the hire based on the total km travelled. This is to cover the cost of the RUC. Remember diesel is 40% cheaper so it works out to about the same total cost as driving on petrol.

The bus can only be driven on sealed/bitumen or well-maintained roads. The bus is not permitted on Skippers Road (Queenstown), the Crown Range Road (Queenstown), Ball Hut Road (Mt. Cook), Ninety Mile Beach (Northland) and North of Colville Township (Coromandel Peninsula).

The vehicle is insured by the SHAREaCAMPER Insurance.

For this camper the security bond amounts NZD 3,500.00. You can reduce it to NZD 500.00 for per rental day. The bond will be processed through SHAREaCAMPER's secure payment system.
