Campervan hire in Waikato
Named for New Zealand’s longest river, the Waikato River, this region was originally heavily populated by the Maori people and is now one of the most ethnically diverse regions in New Zealand. Including some of New Zealand’s most popular beaches along the Tasman Sea, such as Raglan’s surfing paradise, there is so much to see, not least the Bridal Veil Falls, the Waitomo Glow Worm Caves, the Te Aroha Mineral Pools, and the Hobbiton Movie Set.

State highways 1 and 3 intersect the Waikato region at Hamilton, meaning that all northbound travellers to Auckland will find their way to this diverse region. Take advantage of the numerous holiday parks of Waikato, and stay awhile! Spend some time in the Firth of Thames near Coromandel Forest Park at the Miranda Holiday Park. Located near the junction of State Highway 2, which heads to Auckland and State Highway 25, which follows the coastline of the Firth, this park is “an oasis in the middle of everywhere.” Or for a wilderness experience north of the forest, base your explorations at the Coromandel Top 10 Holiday Park. Surfers will want to follow State Highway 23 west to the water-surrounded Raglan Kopua Holiday Park. Then head south to the Waitomo Caves, where you can overnight at the Waitomo Top 10 Holiday Park, which is an excellent base to see the caves, as well as to bush walk, explore, and take advantage of the organic beef sold at the neighbouring Waitomo General Store and Café. Travellers headed to Hobbiton may be interested in overnighting at the Opal Hot Springs and Holiday Park an hour west of Hamilton. With mineral pools onsite, this park promises a relaxing evening after adventure-filled days.
"Since we are very busy in our jobs, the camper used to sit in our driveway for long period of time and noone used it. So we had the idea to give other camping lovers the option to try and go away for a trip with a motorhome for an affordable price. We are happy with the platform, we feel supported well and our concerns are taken seriously."
"I rent out my motorhome because I don't want to have it sit in my driveway without being driven. Being in touch with the travellers is a great experience that I enjoy a lot."
"Thank you for inviting us to join SHAREaCAMPER NZ. It is great for owners of Camper Vans, Motorhomes, and Caravans, in New Zealand to share them with the people of the world, when they are not being used, so that they to may experience while they are on holiday in New Zealand, the travelling to beautiful places, and sites of New Zealand."
"Without SHAREaCAMPER we wouldn't have bought our camper! The customer support is professional and we have met many nice people, some of which even came back to hire our Dreamer a second time."
